September Salutations  Integral City-zens  and Friends of Integral City

"…the limits of my language are the limits of my world."
Wittengenstein as quoted by:Wilber, K., Marriage of Sense and Soul, New York, Random House, 1998. Today's www.integralcity.com Sparkie for the City Mind
  • ... I was inspired to witness a paradigm shift in the planning profession while I was at the World Planners Congress . In the Vancouver Declaration, the Planners accepted the profession's responsibility for Global Warming (yes!!), poverty prevention and HIV/AIDS.
  • ... at the World Urban Forum3, the session on City Indicators raised the issue of tracking Subjective and Intersubjective Indicators of Wellbeing.  This session was of great interest to me, not only for Subjective and Intersubjective city health but also for Objective and Interobjective health.  I have written about the value of the Integral Framework for integrating all these indicators using an 4 Quadrant / 8 Level approach.
  • ...You can read my articles on both these topics at www.integralcity.com - click on the Sense in the City Ezine on the right Nav Bar.
  • ... here is a reminder for anyone attending the Toronto Spiral Dynamics integral training -- the hotel wants your registration by Sept. 4 to obtain the special Early Bird SDi rate -- please contact them at
  • ... for Online Registration for Spiral Dynamics integral, Level 1, Toronto Oct. 20-23  go to  https://www.iias.com/sdi/toronto-oct-2006.html
  • ...  apologies for the bad links in the last Newsletter to the articles on the intelligence of bees and what they have to tell us about sustainable cities (and adaptive organization development) --  the links are now working for the 2 articles with Bee Wisdom available at   http://www.integralcity.com/Ezine%20Files/archive.asp
